The Red Army Chorus and Dance
Ensemble
Under the direction of Colonel Boris Gastev

Presented by the Hot Springs Village Concerts Association

The Red Army Chorus and Dance Ensemble was founded in Leningrad in 1939.  Today this exciting and entertaining group still maintains the highest standards and artistic traditions of the Russian Army Companies.
The Ensemble is well known and popular not only in Russia but all over the world.  Their 3-night performances at Woodlands was very well received by the audiences and will be one of the highlights of the 2002-2003 season.

We include pictures below.  All may be enlarged by clicking the picture.

The evening came to an end with a beautiful rendition of God Bless America by soloist Merab Megreli. There were tears in the audience during this moving moment.

Followed by the Russian National Anthem.  The left flag is the flag of the Russian Baltic Navy; the center flag is the Russian Flag of today; the flag on the right is the old Russian flag.

The following people are very instrumental in putting on a production of this kind.

Tour Manager, Jim Hughes

Valery Merkulov, Tour Administrator and Alexandre Chpak, Sound Manager
All were a joy to work with before and during the performances.
